When you buy handmade artisan products, it's important to recognize that each item has a unique gift of human imperfection and character. This quality is absent in mass-produced machine-made goods. Artisanal products are made by human hands and hearts and thus may have distinctive characteristics and variations.

Many things set a piece apart, such as bead color, the beauty of various bead styles (ex: some beads have uniformity and others do not.), and or the various materials that were used in the making of the piece. For example, quills, shells, and antlers are sometimes utilized in my art pieces, and all are genuine items that naturally come with slight variations & are delicate as well. These distinctions are to be expected and treasured for their uniqueness & natural qualities. Each piece is a unique and special because of these possible variations. This also applies to leather products. As a natural material, many leathers may have scars, scratches, and or marks. These are not imperfections, but rather characteristics that make each item that more special. Since my products are handmade, each piece is unique and may have slight inconsistencies & differences that enhance its overall beauty.

It is also important to cherish and handle all pieces with love and care. To ensure that you are a good candidate for leather and beadwork pieces, please take a look at some easy and standard care tips which can be found towards the end of this page. Many of these care tips apply to both leather & beaded pieces.

My Story

My inspiration is I’ve always had an appreciation for all things handmade. I love it when someone thinks of an individual and dedicates their time to create them something made with love and thoughtfulness. 💕

I’ve always loved statement jewelry and living in the West has definitely evolved my style and inspired me, as well as seeing and supporting my other fellow indigenous beadworker's beautiful creations. I use beading as a way to reclaim my roots all while trying to use it for an outlet to express my creativity & to heal. I strive to make all original work and designs with hopes to create one of a kind pieces you can cherish and share with your loved ones for many years to come...

I started Mountain Mama Beadwork LLC because I love beadwork and wanted others to fall in love & see its beauty. As well as aiming to make and empower others to feel beautiful inside and out while wearing these pieces... just as I do. My beading journey really began as a way to express myself and to heal after losing my little sister unexpectedly in 2019. & it has truly helped in so many different ways in my life and feels my heart with so much joy & comfort to this day.  I was also a new mama that year and I thought it would be a great craft for me to teach and pass down to my little when she gets a little bit older and hope it makes us connect with our Indigenous culture and inspires us to continue to pass this beautiful form of art on to all of our families future generations.

Hope you all enjoy & happy to be sharing my art and love of beadwork with all of you. Thanks for your support and kindness. 💕

Much Love,

Quick & Easy Beadwork Care Tips

Please keep in mind the following FAQs and easy care tips to ensure the longevity of your beaded jewelry:

- When storing, hang or lay beaded pieces completely flat. The string has memory and will hold the shape it was last left in.

- Avoid wearing and submerging your jewelry in water. Earrings should never be worn while swimming, taking a bath, or showering.

- Store your jewelry away from direct sunlight as it can cause bead colors to fade.

- Be mindful when wearing jewelry during vigorous exercise/activities.

- Avoid excessive pulling and or tugging on your jewelry.

- Please avoid dropping beadwork, especially if it contains shellwork, quills, and/or antlers, as many beads are delicate and fragile and made of glass.

- Do not use essential oils or harsh cleaning chemical products on beadwork.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your beadwork will be cared for as an heirloom piece. Always handle your jewelry with love and care.
Thank you! ❤️
